SingJam is an immersive music experience where children express themselves through song and dance in fun-filled sessions led by professional musicians. We sing together, dance, play percussion, and play guitars and ukuleles. Participants are also welcome to bring and play whatever other instruments they like.
We offer SingJam on Tuesdays at 10:15 – 11:00 am and Thursdays at 4:15 – 5:00 pm at Ashkenaz, the iconic Berkeley music venue. Sessions are led by Ben Kramarz, plus guest musicians.
"Our toddler LOVES SingJam! They play all his favorite hits. The musicians are so talented, so fun and so good with kids. They bring musical instruments for the kids to join in, too. We plan our schedule around SingJam, and it's often the highlight of our week! Thank you, SingJam, for bringing community together."
"Ben and Dave are wonderful musicians and bringing my 19m old to class has honestly been one of the best things. My son is totally engaged, moves his body, and shines happiness. I highly recommend for all the caregivers out there. It is also reasonably priced which I very much appreciate!"
"I highly recommend! Live music is a lot of fun – and I notice my baby watching, listening, and appreciating it in a way that he just doesn't do when we listen to recorded or online music at home. Ben and Dave are great musicians, and I love that they throw in some music for the adults too. Worth every penny."
With a diverse repertoire of songs ranging from rock ‘n’ roll to jazz to reggae, SingJam provides an inclusive, non-judgmental space where children can feel safe and valued, regardless of their musical background or ability level. SingJam supports social-emotional learning and inspires children to make music on their own and with others. And remember – you can play too! Children attend with their caregivers, who are welcome to sing and play instruments.
